We live in Central Florida and took a last minute get away to the beach. We were not looking to spend much money; therefore, our expectations were not very high. The hotel: is run down but somewhat clean for the price. The hallway carpet and elevator floor was worn and needed replacement. The pool was small but heated and our children had a blast swimming in January! The beach is small but quaint. We loved that it was secluded keeping the crowds small. The hotel sits next to Shepherd?s Dockside with live music playing until midnight. We enjoyed sitting on our balcony watching the sunset and listening to the music. The location: was down the strip allowing us to walk to all our destinations. After sunset, we would walk along the beach to the pier for fun activities for both parents and children. There were many restaurants to choose from. Our favorite was Frenchy?s. The room: was pleasantly large with two double beds and sleeper sofa. The kitchenette included a small refrigerator, double burner stove top, microwave, coffee pot and set of dishes for two people. Beds were comfortable and clean. Housekeeping had an attitude with my husband while cleaning the room. He immediately complained to the front desk and all was taken care of in an instant. Continental breakfast was a little to be desired. We purchased cereal and milk or ate at the IHOP next door. For our first trip to Clearwater Beach, this hotel met our needs for this trip. However, now that we have the lay of the land, we would probable choose another hotel and pay a few bucks more.

This hotel is history. It will be demolished and turned into condos soon. Same as the Spyglass Hotel. The beach bars attract many dunk drivers so be cautious! If you have kids or a family stay away. Otherwise, it can be a party. Safe to a point, just out of control! Depending on what you're after in a vacation, the choice is yours.

room and hotel were very dirty. we paid over 100 a night and it was not worth it. we live in central florida so we just decided to stay a few nights. We have kids and were looking for a hotel on the beach. the bad: room was very dirty feeling, the chairs you didnt want to sit on. The porch smelled of pee. the kitchenette was such a joke i dont know how anyone could use it. the celing tiles were falling out in the hallways. No light in the pool at dark. the beach facing rooms only were a picture window. the porch faced the parking lot. No soap in the bathroom, nothing to open curtian you had to open them by pulling them. no ammenities like eating, or gym. the so-so: the hotel is in between a tiki bar next door for drinkers and a party tiki bar with music on the other side. great for a couple but for a family it was a party all day long with lots of younger people going through. and not much beach to play on where people and boats werent parked. the good: the staff was nice, and thats about it.. =)

My husband and I stayed here before going on a cruise - we wanted a reasonable hotel on the beach. The location was perfect - only drawback was the band next door which was loud - don't know if I'd stay here with kids. Our room was quite large with a king sized bed, large bathroom, and an apartment sized stove/fridge/sink/micro/coffee maker - more than we needed, but would be great for a longer stay. This was perfect for our needs - all rooms have a balcony or patio - we got some drinks and listened to the band for free from ours!

This place was terrible! The doors wouldn't lock, ceilings stained and falling down, small parking lot, elevator small and slow. This place was so decieving by the pictures, there wasn't even a 10 ft./sq beach. We were forced to ask for our money back (didn't get it) and left 1hr after we checked in.
