The hotel was beautiful and in a great location. The shuttle was conveniently located right in fron of the hotel. We arrived in Orlando at 900 am and was surprised to find out we could have an early check in. Upon returning from the parks in the evening we were surprised by a roach in our room!!! THe following morning I reported it to the fromt desk. They took $* off the room! I was hoping they would offer more than that but they didnt. We enjoyed the character buffet Sunday morning. The characters were not a big deal but the food was excellent. Would still stay again even with the bug issue.

Great Hotel for the price. Went for a long weekend and would go back! Right across the street from Downtown Disney and shopping. The staff was very helpful and polite and even returned our missing phone! The room was clean and modern. We loved our stay and the price was terrific! The pool was nice and the only complaint we had the whole stay was the music played around the pool. It needs a litte variety.

Conceirge & hotel employees were very rude! Hotel itself is nice but employees are not clear about anything! We were told over the phone before we arrived (by two different people) that we could purchase park tickets from the hotel & we could receive our AAA discount. When we inquired about this the conceirge was extremely rude & told us no & treated us very poorly. All of the mis-information they gave us ended up costing us hundreds of extra dollars & we talked to the General Manager & she bascially told us everything was our fault even though she was one of the ones we spoke to originally & gave us wrong information about tickets. She refused to comp even one night of our 4 night stay even though we had to pay extra money b/c she & her empployees errors! I do not recommend this hotel. Stay on a Walt Disney World property. Or the Regal Sun. We ended up using their conceirge service & they were very helpful.

I walked through this restaurant, checked the menu, and also walked around while they were serving. What I found was that there is very little in the way of "Australian" cuisine here, and what there is has been Americanized beyond even what the Outback Steakhouse has done. At least there isn't a blooming onion on the menu. It appears that the restaurant used to have an African theme to it, and apparently that did not do well as it was modified to sort of support an Australian theme. Prices were high for what there was, and it is not really a kid-friendly restaurant. As other reviews have stated, you are probably better off going across the street to Downtown Disney and finding something to eat there. There will be more variety and cost-minded menus available. However, for a late-night bite, the semi-hard to find sports bar does look to be a decent place to grab some wings, and it is appropriate for taking kids to.

I found the Buena Vista Palace as an alternative to spending $ a night at Disney. Basically put, I have few regrets and am glad I saved $+ for my 3 night stay. Below is a summary. Pros - Modern decor both in the lobby and rooms. Reminded me of some posh and modern rooms I've stayed in NYC. Includes modern furniture, including an Aeron chair, light decor, even aeromatics pumped into the lobby. - As close to ""Disney"" as possible without Disney prices. Hotel is across the (usually not too busy) street from Downtown Disney and the Saratoga Springs resort. You could take one of the Disney buses from Downtown Disney to one of the other resorts. - Nice, clean hotel for a good (great?) price Cons - Sounds weird, but for such a nice place I couldn't figure out why the shower pressure was so low. I wouldn't say it was a trickle, but it wasn't like most (nice) hotel showers that put out strong pressure. -Being off site from Disney. I admit, in the future I may forgo the savings just to stay on site. There's just something about the complete Disney experience you don't get by staying off site, even if its across the road. - While the Buena Vista resort offers bus service to the parks every 30 minutes on the half hour and hour, it was unreliable, sometimes being 15 minutes late. On our last day we waited 45 minutes only to find the bus was ""broken down"". Disney buses are more plentiful and run much more often. Also consider that the Buena Vista buses also pickup people from other hotels. Again, good hotel for the price as long as you don't mind being off site from Disney.
