Overall it was a decent place to stay. The room and bathroom were very clean. Bed was amazingly comfortable. I dont think the pool was heated, although it was November the air temp was 75-80 and sunny, so swimming seemed like a great idea, but the pool was too cold. Also, there is no view of the Superdome from the pool, which i was looking forward to seeing but you could not. Also, surrounding area was a bit run down. The walk to and from the French Quarter was not bad at all distance wise, but at night, I would not advise women to walk alone. There was an hourly shuttle available to take guests to and from the Quarter, but most prefered to walk. Also the shuttle stops at 10pm. If you are on a budget and looking for a clean place to stay in walking distance to the Quarter its not a bad deal. Superdome is a block away, you can't see it from the hotel as advertised, but its there!

  • Good value - great service

Motel was 10 blocks from casino 12 blocks from convention center, but provided hourly shuttle to Casino, Convention Center and French Quarter. Restaurant - bare necessities. Place was clean and employees very helpful. Lots of run down buildings adjacent - wouldn't walk around by myself, but shuttle took care of that problem.

For the past 20 years I have traveled in a Motor Home. Was a little leary about my first experience in a hotel. I was extremely pleased with this Holiday Inn. The front desk was always helpful and very friendly. The restaurant had terrific food for reasonable prices. My breakfasts and evening meals were terrific. I was always busy so ate lunch on the run. The shuttle was terrific and free. The atmosphere in the bar was always friendly. The room was always clean & if you needed anything extra you just had to ask. I will highly recommend this hotel. Also will book it again if I ever have to go back to New Orleans.

Positive: The hotel was wonderful! The rooms were clean and the hotel staff was absolutely wonderful. The restraunt served simply delicious eats, and the bartender was friendly and inviting! The lobby staff went waaaaay out of their way to ensure my comfort, and gave expert directions around the city to some of the highlight areas. The free shuttle was a comfortable way to get around, wqas prompt and timely. I really got the feeling that the people in this hotel care about the customers they service! What a fun place to spend my time at our nursing convention! I came to New Orleans alone, but I certainly didn't feel alone while I was there! Thankyou so much Holiday Inn Superdome for making my stay comfortable! Negative: I didn't care for the area of the city that I stayed in. The Holiday Inn Superdome is three blocks from Canal Street on Elk. That intersection had some very seedy looking folks hanging out at all times of the day or night, and riding the street car from that intersection made me feel concerned for my safety. As a result, I spent more time in the hotel than I would have if I had stayed in the French Quarter. Overall, I would absolutely recommend this hotel to travellers. But the lone traveller may want to stay closer to the tourist highlights in the interest of safety.
