The rooms were big with a balcony. The staff was courteous and helpful. If you needed anything, you just had to ask and they would accommodate you. I stayed at this hotel from Oct. 9 thru Oct. 14 2008 to visit my son that is at Ft. Bragg. It is also close to Ft. Bragg. There are a lot of restaurants around and close to this hotel to go to and is close to a lot of shopping centers. I would definitely stay at this hotel again.

I was put in this hotel because of a contract, so, unfortunately, I had no say in the matter and was stuck here for 17 days. I could write a lot about this place, but I'll try to keep focused on the things that bothered me the most. 1. the cleaning service - absolutely horrible. I had a non-smoking room, but my room continuously smelled like smoke. On day 9, one of us caught two cleaning ladies smoking in her room while "cleaning" and watching the TV. Has a coffee maker in the room, but the filter has about an inch of mold growing in it. (Rm 1012, by the way). On day 10 I returned back from work and the door to my balcony was wide open, with the A/C full blast. 2. Each room has a magnetized card key, and every day for 7 straight days when I returned from work I would be locked out of my room. At first they blamed me, my cell phone, the key-card gods, but then I realized that it would only demagnitize when my room was cleaned. On the 8th day the front desk manager finally realized that the master key had been lost for the 10th floor, so each day the cleaners were given a key set for each individual door, deactivating any previous keys. On the 11th day there was a new front desk manager, and I got locked out again. 3. the location is...a bit scary. Several gentlemen's clubs and bars in the area. I would suggest not venturing out at night for a stroll. On day 14, one of the rental cars for our group got broken into during broad daylight. Gold's Gym is close by, but make sure you bring a buddy.

I can go both ways. The 'security' feature involving the elevator didn't work as told, room key 'card' difficult to use, info on key kept getting wiped so I had to keep getting it reassigned, the neighborhood wasn't the best. However, everything was close by, room was spacious as was the bathtub, every room had a balcony which is excellent when traveling with pets. My suggestion: scope out the hotels once you get here. There is a variety of nicer, less expensive, more accommodating (i.e., laundry facility on premises). And most are willing to help find lodging elsewhere if not available.

This hotel was dirty, smelled had a discourteous staff and was in a run down neighborhood. The best thing that I can say is that the bugs and rodents stayed hidden when the lights were on. The room was filthy and stank of cigarette smoke despite the fact that it was supposedly a non-smoking room. The 'free' breakfast consisted of expired milk and fruit that was starting to rot while the cleaning staff loitered around the kitchenette.
