THIS WAS THE ABSOLUTE WORST RESERVATION SERVICE EVER. MAN NAMED xxx AT THE COUNTER WAS EXTREMELY RUDE. THE INTERENET RESERVATION SERVICE USED BY THIS HOTEL WAS POOR AND INACCURATE. THEY REFUSED TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM THAT WAS THE HOTEL ERROR. HOTEL MANAGER WAS OUT OF TOWN AND NOT AVAILABLE TO RESOLVE THE ISSUE. LOBBY SMELLED OF SMOKE AND CLEANLINESS WAS POOR. DO NOT USE THIS HOTEL. BAD VALUE FOR THE MONEY AND JASON WAS A PUNK

We checked hotel prices on Travel agency and purposely went with a higher priced hotel so we could have a nicer stay. We got to our room --- there were scorch marks all over the bathroom, the bathroom floor had hair and dirt in the corners, the ceiling was stained and in some places chunks of it were coming down, there was no bathroom fan (for decreasing the humidity after showering), there was a lot of black mold in the shower crevices, the television volume was not working properly, the toilet barely flushed --- it just wasn't worth what we paid. It reminded me more of a low level motel rather than a hgher priced hotel with the amenities and quality that come along with that rank.

The hotel is under renovation construction outside and you have to use a side entrance and walk through mud to get in. The lobby is dark and almost frightening near the elevators. The rooms are musty and the decor is from the 1970's. The mattress seemed to be from a tenement apartment in downtown Detroit. Actually, that would have been a step UP from this hotel, IMHO.
Somehow online travel website rates this eyesore as a four star (four smiles) enterprise. Frankly, one star is more like it. I cannot imagine being more disappointed than I was upon entering this hotel the first time. -

Zoo at Kalamazoo
06/02/2007This hotel is in need of a major upgrade for all aspects. the resturant/bar was not open the rooms poor and the place was mostly empty.
