The room was fairly clean, the staff was pleasant. If internet is needed, do not stay at a Comfort Inn. They contract out the service and will give you a toll free number to call if you can't connect. They tell you your proxy settings are incorrect and your firewall is the problem. Funny my computer works fine at Holiday Inn! The only signal I could get in the Comfort Inn room was by setting the computer on top of the coat rack and standing on a chair. The pool is outside, and the door out to it locks behind you so you have to walk around the hotel to the lobby to go back to your room. Breakfast was okay. The dining room is not open on Sunday night. The ""gift/convenience shop"" was NEVER open while we stayed our two nights (even though its sign says it was supposed to be). If you stay here with kids and the weather is not suited for the pool use, there is NOTHING for the kids to do. Nothing close to walk to without taking your life in your hands on the busy street in front of it. The shuttle service to the Metro was great, no problems there. All in all, I would pay a little more and stay at a nicer place. This was one of two Comfort Inns that we stayed at on our trip. If I had not made my reservations through a online travel website. I would have left after the first night, however, your payment is non-refundable through yahoo travel!!

I hate to say I was very disappointed in this hotel after reading the other reviews. The room was very small and in need of repair in the shower. The area was not the best as there was no where to walk to from the hotel. Most of the staff were friendly and the shuttle to the Metro was great. The breakfast was not that great and the person putting out the food was not friendly at all. The area around King Street seems to be a much better choice.

This was a great hotel to stay at when you visit the CD area. Hotel is clean and staff was friendly. The courtesy van to and from the metro is very convenient. And they have a good complimentary breakfast in the morning - make your own waffles!

I booked this hotel with some trepidation after reading the reviews here. We spent 4 nights there in April while visiting DC sights. Even the picture scared me a little. Turns out, this was a fine hotel. No complaints at all about the room. They put on an awesome free breakfast. The front desk was completely helpful, every time we asked questions. We used the free shuttle to the metro daily. It was always there within a few minutes of calling. We were so exhausted from all our sightseeing that we never even ventured into the fitness room. They even have a small giftshop. I am writing this because the previous reviews were so negative, that I actually considered that we might decide to stay someplace else if it was really bad. I would stay there again in a heartbeat.

I didn't have time to use the hotel services, but the rooms are clean and I had an easy commute to Alexandria. This hotel is easy to get to as it is right off of I-495. However, if you plan on staying for several nights, take note of the fact that there are no microwaves or refrigerators in the rooms. Other than that I had a pleasent stay at the Comfort Inn Alexandria.
