Never Again!

We booked this place because it looked fine and the one review said it was OK. When we arrived there were seedy looking characters hanging out around outside the rooms and on the second story walkways. The place looked a truck stop. The lobby was fine, we got to our room and it smelled like cat urine, I walked into the bathroom to ckeck it out and STUCK TO THE FLOOR! The furniture was scratched and worn, there was only one available electrical outlet in the room. While looking for more outlets I tried to move the bedside table and found the top was not attached to the table. We went to back to the front desk and said we were leaving. The clerk said she would give us another room, we said we didn't feel safe staying there. She told us the characters who were hanging around the rooms, lived there for a couple months, I guess construction workers. She called the manager and told us she would give us credit through Ttravel agent , two weeks later and no credit. We called travel agent and they did finally issue us credt. I would sleep in my car before staying at this place.

My son and I were moving him down to Durham to begin at Duke Law.........thought the location was convenient, and since we had a large truck we wanted a motel rather than a hotel to keep an eye on the truck!
This was a complete DUMP! It looked more like a 'rent by the hour' motel than anything else. The toilet did not even have a lid! I slept in my clothes with my own blanket on top of the sheets!
NEVER AGAIN will I stay at a Best Value Inn.............if it hadn't been so late we would have found a reputable hotel! -
