Great hotel. Pros: Staff was friendly and helpful and the rooms were clean. I discovered that all of the US presidents have stayed here at one time or another! so basically that makes me cool for staying there;) Cons: Internet service in the room was , no smoking rooms were available, no free parking

07/18/2009Near all of downtown detroits nightlife, casinos and sporting venues. don't venture out of the tourist areas though. roughly 2 miles in any direction of the hotel is safe.

Stayed here for a Stanley Cup game. This was a great hotel. I suggest the valet parking. Scan in lobby to retrieve your vehicle. I had to wait less than 5 minutes for my vehicle even though they were very busy. There is a station in the lobby where I confirmed and printed my airline boarding pass. Extremely good service. I was only there for one night and probably did not see 75% of the hotel due to its size. The room was beautiful and the bed was the most comfortable I have ever slept in in a hotel. I would definitely stay there again.

Great Customer Service beautiful, few renovations are taking place but be sure to get a room facing Canada, the view is AWESOME!!!!Only complaint no room service from 11am until 5 pm, but you can use the restaurant downstairs.

The hotel and complex are big and beautiful, plenty to see and do within the complex. Restaurants have changed there is no longer a Riverview cafe or bar and the new restaurant 42 degrees north while beautiful, had some negatives including: the waitstaff was continually trying to upsell, taking away from the romance and charm; the menu was limited and the food was expensive and not prepared fresh. Volt however the new lobby bar was fun and staff was eager to please.
