The Andrew Jackson is in a great location. The hotel has a very nice courtyard, and the staff was very nice. Only drawback is that the room was a little small, but that is probably expected from an older hotel.

it was cold in the room the first night but we got use to it after that. then we got comfortable. the room was a little too smaller than what most rooms are but the front desk people were so nice it kinda made up for it.

I'm not sure how the Andrew Jackson gets 3 star hotel status. The room (room 102) looked as though it had not been renovated in decades. The bathtub needed caulking badly, the bed linens looked ancient, as did all of the furniture (including the TV) and the carpet. The lamp by our bed was broken, and there was no way to control the air conditioning temperature. The location is good, but that's it. I would not recommend this place and I will definitely NOT stay there again.

If you are looking for a great little hotel in the heart of the quarter, look no further than the Andrew Jackson! It's in a great central location, quiet and charming, yet close enough to all the fun. No pool, but a three-block walk will take you to their sister hotel the St. Pierre where they were more than happy to have us come swim and sit (and drink!) by the pool. Staff is super friendly - at both hotels - no matter what time of night or early morning we came strolling in there was always a friendly face to greet us. My husband and I try to get down there every year, this year we took my sister and a friend - we all arrived in NOLA at about 10:30 am and the hotel had our rooms ready for us that soon before normal check in time. This place is so worth a try, we will definetly be back!

I made my reservation through the travel website for April 11th - 14th 2007 (have since canceled and changed hotel.) At that time of the reservation there was no where to request a room with 2 dbl beds. The next morning I called the hotel myself to see if they could help me with this. The man at the front desk was so rude and told me that there would be an extra charge of $75.00 per night. I didn't want a bigger room or a special view just 2 beds instead of 1. He said that's just the way it was because I booked on line just to get a cheaper room, basicly calling me cheap. I tried to explain I needed a package deal with airfare and hotel and that's the reason I did it that way. Needles to say I called the travel agency and they were GREAT! They worked with me to change hotels and waved the fee. My husband & I were married in New Orleans 14yrs. ago & go back every year. Believe me we will never stay here.
