The room cost 40% less than i expected to pay for this location and it included free parking which can be $*--$* a day. The hotel had chopped up layout and I probably had the worse room in it but it was OK for my purposes. If my wife had traveled with me I would have wanted something nicer. For the budget conscious traveler this was a great value. Larry from Ohio

We recently had a family vacation in Chicago. We enjoyed this hotel for the central location to the places we went. We parked our car ;with no charge and were able to walk to all of our venues. The hotel was older--not vintage. Halls were outdated but the rooms had been remodeled and were nice. The over-sized king room actually worked better for our family, as there was plenty of room for two blow-up mattresses on the floor for the kids. Decent sized pool on the top floor with an outside deck with a nice view of the city--especially at night.

We and another couple stayed at this hotel the weekend after Christmas for some Blues. While the room and bathroom were on the small side and, if you looked too close, there were clues of the hotel being older but revamped, it was clean, and we would stay here again for the outstanding employee attitudes and service we received! Employees were helpful without being bothersome and they all were pleasant, right on down to the park'g attendants on any shift! No employee whom I met had that resentful, surly attitude often seen. When we travel, we want to be out in the city we came to see, not the room, so the attractive bedding and decorations are secondary considerations. Our bathroom did not have an exhaust fan (which I thought odd), but it did have a heat lamp, plenty of hot water and good pressure. I liked the sink's big counter outside the bathroom and the B&W tiling in the bathrm. While parking IS free, the parking spots are really trim, so smaller cars may be less likely to get dinged by careless ppl. We did not have room service, but the prices looked so reasonable compared to other places I've stayed. Bonuses are the Blue Chicago club literally around the corner from this hotel and the Fado Irish Pub practically next door to Blue Chicago, within safe walking distance ""home"" after frivolities (but first you'll hit up the 24-hour McDonald's across the street)--convenient, or what? We definitely plan to stay here again in the off-season for more Blues! [I'd love to bring my Floridian sister and husband when they visit this summer, but hotel prices look high ($*/night).] P.S. Checkout is noon to recoup from your fun!
