Worst stay ever!!
10/06/2009Dirty carpets,furniture and bathrooms. mold on ceilings. smoky rooms in non-smoking. would not even refund money so i could stay in a clean hotel.

Nice clean rooms, the breakfast was great so was the jacuzzi. Great staff but there english is a little rusty. Anyway i payed about dollars a night here with the promo for thursday and friday night. It's A great value for your buck. Unless your A very high maintenince inivudual you will definitly love your stay with the arena hotel.

The best this hotel had to offer was it's breakfasts. Better than a continental, and the fare was filling. The light dinners were that, very light (HB, HD, chips, tacos, etc.). The service left much to be desired. The cleaning was NEVER done before 3pm, and took up to an hour to clean the room (we never left a mess). Items from previous guests were found in the room (a rather large fake fingernail, and somebody is missing their neglige???). The jacuzzi tub was great. We stayed three nights. Would we stay again? Probably not -- I'm sorry, but when I pay for a motel, I really like the thought of clean rooms daily and no cigarette holes, leftovers from previous guests, and dirty appliances - regardless of what a great deal we got.

The Arena Hotel was offered as a special with free breakfast, free wifi and free dinner. We were disappointed to find out that the free dinner did not apply as they told us it was only available during certain days during the week. Our reservation included a sat & sun night. Even on their website they say the Alameda room offers a light meal nightly which also does not apply. Please be aware. The air conditioning was broken in our non-smoking room on the 2nd night. After we arrived back from our Sunday brunch, the hotel room was blazing hot... the a/c was not working and as we tried the buttons for cooling, it proceeded not to work. We asked the front desk to check on the problem and they sent a service person to look at it. They assured us they would take care of the problem. Later when we returned that evening, the room was even hotter than earlier that day. We opened the window and proceeded to the front desk again. The hotel person at 11pm said there was no service person available til the next day and the only other room available was a smoking room which was totally unacceptable. We ended up in our room with no other choice. About 1am not able to sleep in the hot room, we decided to take a look inside the air conditioner ourselves to see if there was any possible way to fix it. We managed to actually fix it to cool enough to get us thru the night... I would take caution when using this hotel. Plan to eat out and go when the weather is cold and you should be ok.

The hotel was clean and the staff was very helpful and friendly. The hot breakfast buffet was very good and consisted of coffee, tea, milk, juice, potatoes, scrambled eggs, yogurt, fruit, rolls, cerial, and pancakes. One day you might have bacon and the next day you might have sausage links. One day we had biscuits and gravey. The light dinner, which was also good, consisted of, soda, coffee, tea, milk, salad, fruit and a different main course each night. We had lasange, hamburgers, hot dogs and tacos. In the lobby they had popcorn in the afternoon and cookies in the evening. I would definitely stay there again.
