Stayed at this hotel for a conference. Front desk screwed up our reservation and gave us two twins as opposed to reserved King. Room was supposed to be non smoking but smelled like a bar in a wet basement- musty and smoky. Carpets were stained, wallpaper was peeling all over the room. Beds were worn out with springs coming through - felt like they were stuffed with lumpy mush. We complained and were given half off. Would not move us to any other room. We tried to stay through the night but the smoky/musty odor was overpowering we left at 1am. Our view (from the third floor) was of the steel corrugated wall of the parking ramp. Windows were filthy and did not open making the experience in the stinky room all the worse. The furniture was dated (70's?) sticky on the tops and scratched up. Climate control on the wall for the ac was broken off. There were cobwebs in corners and one of the trash bins was full. Staff were unpleasant and acted like they could not be bothered. We are not very demanding people but we were treated like second class citizens. This is an older hotel that has not aged very well - management is horrible - demonstrated by the uncaring attitude of every staff member we met. Will never ever stay at this dump again. Some of the more favorable reviews for this hotel appear to have been written either by management of the hotel or by those that have no clue as to what one should expect at such lofty prices. You have been warned!

My husband and I stayed here for 1 night. The lobby was nice and the staff was courteous The rooms were old and dated. The hallways were dark and there were dirty towels left outside guest rooms. Our room had 2 beds. In one bed we found an eyelash and pubic hair. In the other bed we found strands of hair. At the base of the toilet we noticed what appeared to be a rust stain. However, upon closer inspection we realized that it was dried vomit that was never cleaned up. The only positive thing I would say is that this hotel is easy to get to off the highway.

This is, by far, the worst hotel we have ever stayed at. The rooms look as if they have never been updated. The beds were uncomfortable. There was mold in the bath tiles. We were assigned to a different room because the first one assigned to us smelled of mold and mildew. Do not be fooled by the curb appeal and lobby.....

I have no idea why this hotel got such negative reviews. Stayed here for a conference, and it was a GREAT place to stay. I was pleasantly surprised by how the hotel staff would greet me, and seemed interested in attending to my needs. The front staff was well-trained, there was another staff member waiting in the front to answer questions (the hotel is huge), and the rooms were good--the beds are quite soft and comfortable. There was a fire alarm during the day, but that was a minor nuisance. The hotel's location in central Buffalo is terrific---the only drawback is that if you are getting there by automobile, make sure you are on Church St., or you may find yourself negotiating a series of one-way streets to get to the entrance--you can see the building (which is very large), but the nature of Buffalo traffic makes it challenging to get into the hotel itself. I would definitely go to this hotel again...
