  Quite possibly the most fearful I've ever been staying by myself in a hotel. The hotel staff was very nice, but the experience itself was very unsettling. I wasn't comfortable with the parking situation either. I knew I would be coming in later in the evening, and I wasn't comfortable walking in alone. Didn't feel safe coming and going, in general. I felt the safest when I was locked in my hotel room. I can't believe this hotel was rated so highly. I will be making a more informed choice next time I get a hotel room through a online travel website

  The room was HUGE compared to other hotels. The staff was extremely helpful with suggestions for places to eat or visit and directions. I didn't get to try the cheese cake, but it looked amazing. The breakfast was a great cont. type including, english muffin, bagle, cold cereial, instant hot cereial, coffee, juice, milk. We felt very secure in this area of town, not much police activity or wonderers in the street. There was no fridge in the room and only one drink machine/ice machine. That would be the only negative thing I would have to say. The parking was simple, we parked in front of the hotel ALL weekend for FREE!! If you plan on eating out on the weekend in downtown birmingham al, get a map and google some spots to eat and call ahead to be sure they are open on the weekend. Oh and the tub and HUGE shower were GREAT!

  My only qualms were with my 2 day old tasting hash browns that i got from room service.

  the omelette was okay though.
  
  
  other than that, i would highly recommend this hotel....i will be staying there again in a week or so....i just wont be ordering the food.
