Important Hotel Information
- Starting August 11, 2008, the front desk will open 24 hours pn Friday and Saturday nights, and Sunday through Thursday our front desk will closed between the hours of 11:00 pm to 7:00 am. An On-Call Manager will be available during these hours to handle any guest questions and requirements.

I had read through the previous reviews and really should have paid attention to the comments made by Anonymous from Charleston, SC as well as Anonymous from chattanooga, TN . You definitely get what you pay for! Whatever "renovations" that were being done in 2007 are definitely no where to be seen in 2008! The carpets are still disgusting, the towels still cheap, the beds are older and the musty smell is everywhere. The only saving grace would be the incredible view of the Worlds Most Famous Beach, the pool is well maintained and there is a life guard posted directly behind the "resort". If money were spent on actual renovations this place could be a great place to get away from it all!

I have now stayed here at least 6 out of seven weekends and it is simply the best. The employees and residents make it so. xxx and xxx at the front desk are the best and will always do what they have to to make sure you have a great stay. I am so sad every time I leave because they feel like family. If I could I would work, eat sleep and play there for the rest of my life. You can't go wrong staying at Castaways!!!

Prior to our arrival we called the hotel and spoke with a clerk that assured us that we would be pleased. He told us that the renovations were complete but minor touch-ups still needed to be made. Well my family and I arrived to check-in and the hotel looks nothing like the pictures on the travel website. We asked to see the rooms before we completed the paperwork. It was AWFUL! The capet was ripped and stained, there was a horrible stench and the rooms were not clean and the elevator floors were sinking in. When we went back downstairs and told the clerk that we had a problem, he was very nonchalant about our concerns. To say the least we DID NOT check-in and ended up after three hours of looking stayed at the Emerald Shores Resort down the street

My boyfiend and I stayed @ The Castaways Hotel in Daytona Beach, FL. It was a great stay everything that I had previously read about this hotel was all false, that's why you should never judge a book by it's cover. The staff was wonderful and so was our room. We had no complaints. Whenever we return this is where we will stay. Thanks travel agent!!!!!!!!1
