We had a room w/2 dbl beds. It was small with only 1 chair and no table to sit at, however, it was clean and adequate. Noise from the delivery trucks on the street began early am and was annoying. The lobby offered few amenities. It was very hot in Charleston when we were there and we wanted cold water bottles to take on our walks...none available. The breakfast was sufficient and we dined on a roof top patio overlooking the harbor - very nice. The proximity of the hotel was great for walking to the market place, restaurants, and points of interest to Charleston's history.

  • Lovely Hotel - Avoid street rooms

The hotel was quaint, clean, and attractive. The staff were friendly and helpful. The only downsides were the thin walls between rooms and delivery/truck noise outside our window bright and early each morning. Beep, beep, beep. Get an interior room. Short walk to all of the downtown attractions.

We took a chance and stayed at the Andrew Pinkney recently and would be more than happy to visit again. Our room was situated in the main building, was a nice size and the location was fabulous. The inn is located a block away from the market which is central to a large amount of restaurants and things to see/do. The staff was very friendly, helpful but not intrusive...coffee and cookies in the lobby were a nice touch. The towels in each room are plush and soft unlike many hotels in which you feel the mass of industrial laundry detergent. Breakfast on the terrace was simple yet enough to start the day. The Andrew Pinkney was a highlight to our vacation in Charleston.

No microwave or fridge, badly insulated rooms, can hear EVERYTHING! Couldn't sleep! Seedy part of town, didnt feel safe to go out at night, overpriced, breakfast below par, view was nice off balcony, but you had to dodge the pidgeon's droppings. Won't stay here again.
