This was my third stay at this hotel. I chose it because of its proximity to University of Dayton, and I only needed a place to sleep and shower. A broken air conditioner (latest visit) that flooded my bedroom on the first night caused me to fully inspect the cleanliness of my room. Hot water was out in the hotel my first morning. I had to take an ice cold "fast bath." The manager switched my room and assured me that there would be hot water would be on by afternoon. So I stayed. I arrived at midnight the second night to cold water. Upon closer inspection of my room I found: both television remotes were inoperable. The spare blanket for the pull out sofa smelled like dogs had been laying on it. The hair dryer holder, the soap tray, and the door jambs had a layer of greasy, hairy grime on it. Surfaces like the top of the entertainment center, picture frames, and under televisions hadn't been dusted in awhile. Obvious handprints on walls, and who knows what splash marks on the picture frame above the bed. There were two obvious blood stains on the sofa. Still no hot water the second morning, so they sent me to The Knights Inn next door to shower. It was owned by the same man. There was a large live spider waiting in the tub for me. There was a large crack in the wall, which i could see the tub through. The exterior door was not secure. It was so filthy, it made me think about how I stayed slept at Country Inn, and this man was responsible for both places ... i became ill.

This hotel is not up to the standards we think of when speaking of Country Inn & Suites. Rooms, lobby, halls need some updating. Bathroom in room had cracked tiles, poorly done grout-work, & hair left from a shoddy cleaning job prior to our arrival. Breakfast was horrible! No attendant for 30 minutes; guests were left to try to "find" something to eat on their own. Breakfast bar wasn't restocked or cleaned! Only bright spot...the night desk clerk was helpful in finding us a room since most in the area were sold out. The day shift desk clerk was willing to give us a % off for inconvenience due to the breakfast bar fiasco.

Total Service Failure! We arrived at 11:00 PM with a online travel website confirmed, prepaid reservation , but the front desk clerk said he did not have a room for us. He was rude and totally uninterested in helping us. Eventually he said he would give us a room if someone did not show up by midnight. Then he said we would have to wait untill !2:15. At 12:15 he said 2:00. He refused to help us find another hotel. Worst case of don't give a *%#! I ever experienced. I would sleep in my car before ever going to this property again.

The hotel was clean, updated, and served a great breakfast. The only issue we had was that the shower was cool to lukewarm everyday, anytime of day. There wasn't enough water pressure to warm up the tub or air, so the lukewarm water felt extra cool on your skin. Management was contacted, but nothing was different on subsequent mornings.

The rooms need a serious cleaning, the dust bunnies have babies. The breakfast is the same every day - need some variety. The employees act as if they are doing you a favor when you need something. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone.
